More than 20 years into a career in communication and public relations, I think that the greatest value I bring to my employer and to my clients is an interest in always learning about the new “thing.” I enjoy finding ways to make new technologies help organizations to accomplish their most basic tasks—to connect with the people that they serve and to thrive.
I want to learn more about blogging and I also want to develop a repository for myself and others to view some statistics, articles and information I have found helpful, so I started this blog.
More About Me
I have worked in strategic communication and public relations since 1986. I have worked for General Motors, International Paper, Fairfax County Public Schools and Arlington Public Schools. I am currently working for Balance Interactive as director of client services.
During my time with Fairfax schools, I developed and implemented the school system’s public Web, intranet, and Keep in Touch e-mail system.
In 2006, I earned the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) professional credential. I have a BA in Communication from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
When not learning or researching new ideas to help clients, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am also the technology committee co-chair for PRSA-NCC and a deacon at Burke Presbyterian Church amd am also active in youth ministry there.
