Moms Use Mobile

Woman with phoneAccording to the “21stCentury Mobile Mom Report,” by BabyCenter, mobile phones, and smartphones in particular, have become indispensable to moms. Smartphones among moms has risen 64% over the past two years.

68% of moms use smartphone while shopping. 46% say the most convenient time to receive information about a product is when they are in the store. 62% of moms use shopping apps to research or compare prices.

The top three social activities include:

  • Reading social newsfeeds (56%)
  • Updating her status (54%)
  • Reading answers to posted questions (48%)

Mobile Searching on the Rise

In case you been paying much attention to the growth of online access from mobile devises (aka you have no idea what your website even looks like from a mobile browser), here’s another reason to take notice. More and more folks are doing their searches on mobile – so your search engine exposure is increasingly getting you mobile visitors.
 
According to the Performics 2011 Mobile Search Insights Study, conducted by ROI Research, focusing on people who use the mobile web at least weekly, 57% use the mobile Web more than once/day, with 77% using mobile search more than five times in the last month.
  • 81% of respondents reported evening use of mobile search at home
  • 80% reported weekend use
  • 59% reported use before work
  • 61% reported using mobile search at work
